recordio›Cookie Policy of the Recordio Platform

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy describes which cookies and similar technologies are used by the Recordio platform (the “platform” or “Recordio”), available in particular on the domains recordio.cz and recordio.eu.

This document forms an integral part of the Terms of Service of Recordio (Article 2.4) and follows the Privacy Policy. In the event of any conflict between this document and the Terms of Service, the hierarchy set out in Article 2.4 of the Terms of Service shall apply.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in the user’s browser when the user visits it. They are used in particular for:

  • maintaining the user’s logged-in session;
  • remembering basic preferences (language, currency);
  • website security (protection against attacks);
  • analysing user behaviour (where the user gives consent);
  • targeting advertising (where the user gives consent).

Cookies may be stored:

  • directly by the platform (first-party cookies), or
  • by third parties whose content or services are integrated into the platform (third-party cookies).

3. Current status of cookies used (version 1.0)

At the launch of the platform (from 1 June 2026), Recordio uses only technically necessary cookies. No analytics, marketing or other non-technical cookies are currently used.

3.1 Technically necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the operation of the platform and the security of the service. Without them, the platform would not function properly. Their use does not require separate consent from the user.

PurposeWhat the cookie ensuresRetention period

3.2 What Recordio does NOT use at launch

  • Analytics cookies or other tracking technologies enabling profiling of user behaviour;
  • Marketing cookies (targeted advertising, retargeting, remarketing);
  • Third-party cookies for tracking user behaviour across websites;
  • Social plugins with tracking (tracking buttons for Facebook, X, etc.).

3.3 Cookieless analytics

If the operator introduces analytics tools that do not use cookies or other technologies requiring consent (so-called cookieless analytics), their deployment will not require separate consent from the user. However, they will be transparently described in this document.

4. Possible future extensions

The operator may introduce additional types of cookies in the future, in particular:

  • analytics cookies (for example to measure traffic and improve the platform);
  • marketing cookies (for example for targeted advertising outside the platform);
  • personalisation cookies (advanced content personalisation).

If such an extension occurs:

  1. Cookies will be activated only on the basis of the user’s express consent given in the cookie banner or in account settings;
  2. This document will be updated with a description of the new types of cookies, their purpose, retention period and provider;
  3. The user will be informed of the change under Article 31 of the Terms of Service (e-mail, notice in the platform interface).

5. How to manage cookies

5.1 In the platform interface

In the future (after non-technical cookies are introduced), the user may manage their cookie consent directly on the platform through the cookie banner or account settings. At launch (version 1.0), this option is not needed because the platform does not use any cookies requiring consent.

5.2 In the browser

The user may also control cookies through their browser settings. Most browsers allow users to:

  • view the list of stored cookies;
  • delete specific cookies or all cookies;
  • block the storing of cookies;
  • set notifications when an attempt is made to store a cookie.

Please note: If the user blocks technically necessary cookies, some platform functions may stop working (in particular login and storing preferences). The operator respects such a choice, but is not obliged to ensure full functionality of the platform without technically necessary cookies.

Instructions for managing cookies in individual browsers are available in the browser manufacturer’s documentation:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari
  • Microsoft Edge
  • other

6. Legal basis

6.1 Technically necessary cookies

For technically necessary cookies, neither Directive 2002/58/EC concerning privacy and electronic communications (ePrivacy) nor Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on Electronic Communications, requires user consent.

The legal basis for processing personal data associated with these cookies is performance of the contract for use of the platform under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, or the operator’s legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (security, platform functionality).

6.2 Non-technical cookies (in the future)

If the operator introduces analytics, marketing or other non-technical cookies in the future, they will be activated only on the basis of the user’s express consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

7. Cookie retention period

The retention period for each specific cookie is set out in the table in Article 3.1. In general:

  • Session cookies — are automatically deleted after the browser is closed or after logout;
  • Persistent cookies — are retained for the period stated in the table, but no longer than 12 months unless stated otherwise for a specific cookie.

After the retention period expires, the cookie is automatically deleted.

8. User rights

The user’s rights concerning cookies are set out in detail in the Privacy Policy (Chapter 11). In particular, the user has the right:

  • to information about the cookies used (this document);
  • to withdraw consent to non-technical cookies, if granted, at any time with effect for the future;
  • to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority — the Office for Personal Data Protection, Pplk. Sochora 727/27, 170 00 Prague 7, www.uoou.gov.cz.

9. Changes to this document

The operator is entitled to amend this Cookie Policy unilaterally, in particular if:

  • new types of cookies are introduced;
  • technical service providers are changed;
  • legal regulations change;
  • the functioning of the platform is adjusted for other legitimate reasons.

The operator will inform users of material changes in accordance with Article 31 of the Terms of Service. The current version of the Cookie Policy is always available in the platform interface.
