Recordio / Live Verification

RECORDIO LIVE VERIFICATION

Found your dream gear? Ask to see it in a new recording.

A fresh recording before payment.

Fraudulent listings are a reality on online marketplaces. Stolen photos, copied descriptions and items the seller does not actually have are among the simplest ways to deceive a buyer. We created Live Verification specifically to reduce this type of fraud.

Recordio Live Verification

How Live Verification works

A buyer-first process tied to one specific Recordio deal.

  1. 1

You find the gear you want to buy.

For that specific deal, you request Live Verification.

  2. 2

    The seller starts recording.

They open the camera in Recordio and begin recording the offered item.

  3. 3

Recordio reveals instructions as they go.

The seller receives new instructions they did not know in advance and responds to them during recording.

  4. 4

    A fresh recording is created.

The recording is completed and linked to the specific verification and deal.

  5. 5

    You review the recording.

Before payment, you can assess it and decide whether to continue with the deal.

A new recording for this verification.

A photo may be old, copied or belong to someone else. Even a pre-recorded video does not by itself show that the seller has the offered item available now.

Live Verification works differently. Recordio reveals new instructions during recording. The seller must respond to them with the offered gear in view, so the recording is created for that specific verification.

A photo can be copied. Preparing answers in advance for instructions that have not yet been revealed is considerably harder.

Instructions revealed as recording progresses

What Live Verification helps you assess. And what it does not.

The recording can show

  • The seller presented specific gear while making the recording.
  • They responded to instructions revealed at that time.
  • Certain details of the item's visible physical condition.
  • Visible characteristics of that particular item.
  • That the recording was created within the relevant verification process.

Every instrument has its details. Now you can ask to see them.

These are illustrative examples, not a guaranteed list of instructions.

Electric guitar

Headstock, neck, frets, bridge, back, visible wear and a serial marking where relevant.

Vintage synthesizer

Keyboard, control panel, display, physical controls, rear connectors and visually observable responses.

Effect or multi-effect

Model, panel, connectors, controls, footswitches, display or LEDs.

REC / UNDER THE HOOD

What happens under the hood?

Live Verification is not simply a video attached to a listing. It is a process designed to make old or unrelated recordings harder to use.

Trust helps good gear find its next owner.

A buyer sending money for valuable gear to another city or country may understandably have concerns. Live Verification lets the seller present the specific item in a new recording made directly in Recordio, giving the buyer more information than an anonymous listing with only a few photos.

Frequently asked questions

What is Recordio Live Verification?

A safety feature that creates a new camera recording of an item while the seller follows instructions revealed during recording.

Why are photos not enough?

A photo may be old or copied from someone else's listing.

Can the seller use an old video?

The standard process records with the camera inside Recordio and does not accept a prepared video file.

Who chooses the instructions?

Recordio. Because sometimes you need to record more than music.

Record it. Verify it. Recordio.

Live Verification does not prove

  • Legal ownership.
  • Authenticity of the brand or model.
  • Complete technical functionality.
  • Absence of hidden defects.
  • Future shipment or delivery.
  • Absolute protection against fraud.

Amplifier

Overall physical condition, front panel, connectors, controls and visible signs of use.

Live Verification records video without sound. It does not let a buyer assess tone or audio quality.

Camera inside Recordio

The standard process opens the device camera in Recordio instead of accepting a prepared video file from the gallery.

A new attempt, new instructions

Recordio prepares a new instruction sequence when the seller starts another attempt.

Recording-data checks

The server checks the timeline, step links, integrity data and media structure.

Controlled playback

An authorised buyer watches directly in Recordio without direct access to the underlying storage.

Technical checks help verify the recording process and the continuity of the recording. On their own, however, they do not guarantee the authenticity of the item or its subsequent delivery.

Recordio does, not the buyer.

Does it confirm authenticity?

No. It is not authentication of a brand or model.

Does it confirm full functionality?

No. It only helps assess what the recording visibly captures.

Is sound recorded?

No. Current Live Verification records video only, without audio.

Does it guarantee delivery?

No.

Who can see the recording?

It is not public. The actual buyer in the relevant Recordio transaction may receive controlled playback, and authorised Recordio staff may access it when needed for review, safety or legal obligations.

What if verification is not completed?

An unfinished attempt can expire. Depending on its state, the seller may be able to start again; expiry is not the same as an explicit refusal.

Are all listings automatically verified?

No. Live Verification applies only where the relevant verification has actually been requested and completed.
